Just a point about colour cast and I've never heard it before. I bought a B+W ND 3.0 from a mate who uses Canon and he reported no colour cast. I used it on my Pentax and it produced a cast. Another friend tried it on his Nikon and it produced a cast, but of a different hue. Not conclusive but made me wonder if it was down to how the camera renders colour?
I imagine so, or maybe just the particulars of the jpeg engine or white balance. I wonder if white balance can be set using a dense ND filter and long exposure?

Sending PM. As I intend to use it on film cameras I don't need to worry about trigger voltages. It'll be nice to have a flash that will allow bouncing with TTL on film.

FYI, I found this website (for a sold one) which states it's only for the early Pentax AF film SLRS and not for any other models. I don't know if that's due to TTL functionality or a high trigger voltage.

Can it measure the flash needed for an accurate exposure when bouncing the light off a ceiling?

Now we have it, a bloody mug for pity’s sake.
There's a mug celebrating 80 Years of C---- Cameras if you don't like what Pentax is offering, although of course the ergonomics wouldn't be as good. You can even get the C---- design on a duvet cover. Anyone fancy sleeping in a Pentax?

Steve
Careful - the Can*n mug isn't water resistant and the highlights of the white foam on your cappuccino may be clipped!

Excellent and varied. I like number two, particularly due to the colours.

I recently bought the 50mm f2.8 macro and as an experiment used it as the sole lens on a coast path walk, and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Very lightweight, strangely liberating not zooming in or out, just framing a nice shot by moving around a bit (I say a bit, the cliff edge was a limiting factor!) and the added bonus of close-ups. I now use it paired with a 35mm f2 lens and a 100mm macro for walkabouts if I don’t want to carry weighty gear and as all three share the same 49mm filter thread I just have one polariser and a screw-on 10 stop filter.
I feel there's a sense of freedom with a few small primes compared to heavy slow zoom. The camera balances better, both when carrying it and shooting it, you don't necessarily need the battery grip and you don't look like a CaNikon tourist...
That too.

50mm on FF or film is the most useful focal length there is. On APS-C the nearest equivalent is 35mm. A good 35mm prime will be better than a zoom in every measurable factor of image quality - sharpness, contrast, micro-contrast, flare resistance, colour...

The best option for your K-3 II would be the DA 35mm limited. Failing that, the DAL 35mm f/2.4 is a lot cheaper but loses the build quality and frills while maintaining decent optics (though not up to the standard of the limited).

For landscapes a graduated ND filter can be very useful indeed, to avoid blown out skies.

Get the genuine version. They work well and don't cause problems, especially not getting stuck on your camera rendering it permanently M42-only.
