No idea but I know that Pentax cameras store the lens name in a field that other manufacturers don't use for that purpose, hence why Flickr never knows what lens I used from the EXIF. Maybe with the DFAs they started using the right field but the cameras can't read it?

Kosmo Foto Mono, AKA Fomapan 100 with nicer packaging and a price-hike, is a very nice film which is unfortunately spoiled by being extremely curly, unless they've changed the way they make it in the last few years.

I have never had an LX either but I'd be amazed if it needs to have anything removed to replace the mirror bumper. Replacing this foam is the easiest camera upkeep job there is - just remove the old one and stick a new one in. Buy a larger sheet of foam from ebay and cut to size, it'll cost less than any special "kit" and you'll have enough material for many other cameras too.

It might cost a bit more than a five-pack of 400H...

I was shocked this morning to see this announcement. I honestly thought that Fuji were more committed to their last remaining "pro" grade film. It's a sad loss as 400H has great colours, better than Portra in my opinion, though prices have been very high for a few years now. Makes me glad I bought a couple of five-packs of 120 when it came up for a good price in the summer.

Not that I've heard. This is the heaviest snowfall here since 1971 so it does happen occasionally.

Now it's all ice as we have a very cold spell which re-freezes anything that does manage to thaw a bit during the day. A&E was full of people with fractures from falling on the ice so this morning I took precautions and wore some metal-studded things on my shoes for extra grip and they worked well.

I've known it to reach 47ºC in the summer and last night it dipped to -13ºC, so a 60º range from highest to lowest in the time I've been here.

This month marks fifteen years since I moved to Madrid from Edinburgh, and though it can get very cold in winter, I never thought I'd see the city as I have in the last few days - blanketed in a layer up to 40cm deep of snow. This morning I'm sure it will all be hard and icy as temperatures dipped to -10ºC overnight and my weather app still shows that as the current temperature at this moment, with the sun just up.

On Saturday when it was still snowing I ventured out with my K3 and DA 16-85mm to take some shots around my area. The gear worked perfectly despite the poor conditions. I shot in manual mode, tweaking the settings as needed for the light.

Just buy one of those new ones, they're only €1000...

I have the Vivitar 55mm in M42 and it's a superb lens, extremely sharp even wide open. I also have a Vivitar 35/2.8 in M42, made by Tokina (serial number starts with 37), if this is the same then it's also a very good lens.

I'm tempted by the 55mm to have it in K-mount but I have the A 50/2.8 macro, even though it only goes to 1:2 magnification.
