I think the core products (which I understand are still making money) like Ektar, Portra, T-Max 100 & 400, maybe Gold, will be taken and produced unchanged by another company.

To be honest, I think selling off film is a huge mistake for Kodak, because the association will be gone and that will drive down the value of whatever other business they still try to run.

The robin and snake one is definitely faked. The tank one is very, very cool.

hi,

I'm awaiting delivery of a 645 (original version) in apparently near-perfect condition. From what I can gather, the film back has a light seal, but I can't find any information on replacement seal kits. I'll check it when it arrives but, is this the only light seal on the camera, and if it's in poor condition, where can I get a replacement?

Thanks

I got a fairly good deal on the FA version, even though the camera I'll get won't be AF. I may swap it later for the A version if I don't like the manual focusing/build quality of the FA.

Well, I just won an original 645 on evil-bay, looks like it's in superb condition and has a UB-21 focusing screen (matt, split-image spot), though I don't know what the standard screen is like.

Now I need two things.

The first is a lens for the camera, as it doesn't come with one. The standard A lens will be best to start I think, so if anyone has one to sell or knows a good place to get one, please let me know. I'm not interested in the FA version as it will be too expensive and the camera isn't AF anyway. I can pay by bank transfer or Paypal, and I'll need it shipped to Spain

The other thing is for my wife not to kill me for spending 150 quid on yet another camera.

I sold mine for about 20 quid posted and have seen a couple of others at the same price.

I had the same experience with a magnifier and sold it (this time clearly stated as for K or earlier bodies. I believe if you have the right skills and tools you could cut down the clips on each side to fit a newer body.

Ones that are made for the newer bodies are much harder to find (maybe because they're sold less due to being more useful).

Film is also easier to focus on because the light-sensitive layer is thicker than the surface of an electronic sensor.

Plus film is not as sharp as digital and peeping at very fine detail (at least at 35mm) was far less common, because it was harder to do (loupe or large print). So slight focusing errors were not as obvious.
