My niece does that, but she's less than two

I think the only suitable model you'll find available new is the OPTECH Super Pro STRAP B. The "B" part is very important as it denotes the correct clasps to attach it to the camera.

It's decently made and comfortable and I paid around 20 quid for it, which is significantly less than people ask for a used genuine 645 strap. The seller I bought it from on the bay (http://stores.ebay.co.uk/duracomsupply) doesn't seem to have it at the moment though, but I'm sure others will.

Have fun with the camera. I've had mine (not the "N" model though) since last summer and the quality is great. Try Fuji 160NS colour film, which isn't available in 35mm, the colours are superb and the grain extremely fine. It's not the easiest to get hold of though.

I've fancied an Olympus 35mm film camera for a while, I don't know why. I now have around ten Pentax ones.

Put the camera in M mode, use the green button to meter and then shoot. My K200D underexposes by around 2/3 of a stop from the metering in this mode, I think yours will too as it's about the same age. After metering, click the wheel twice to increase the exposure time before shooting (or open the aperture one or two notches more).

I'd also recommend shooting in RAW so that you can recover a bit if the exposure is still off.

Some people like grips and some don't. I find them extremely valuable due to the increased comfort of vertical shooting and the ergonomical improvements due to extra space for my large hands.

I tend not to have batteries in both body and grip as the K200D doesn't smoothly switch from one set to another anyway.

The grip is almost permanently attached to my K200D, however, on a recent trip I left it behind and it was nice to have a smaller setup, especially with my two limited primes. I didn't use the camera much though, as I was principally using my film 645 (which is not a small setup).

I don't regard them as essential, though I personally wouldn't buy a DSLR that didn't at least have option of one (the biggest failing of Pentax's recent lower-end bodies).

The 35 macro limited is the best 35mm I've tried. The SMC Tak 35/3.5 is also superb, and the 35/2.4 isn't bad (though build quality leaves a lot to be desired).

I love the IQ of many of my old lenses and I don't accept much in the way of an IQ reduction for the pleasure of going all manual. There's a lot of poor old glass out there, but there are a lot of good lenses too.

I had a play with a Canon 6D as I went through the airport today and was very impressed with the speed and silence of the AF (it had a 24-105/4 mounted). It was clearly far superior to anything else I've used (K200D mainly) and it did make me pine for faster AF. At least I understand Pentax have improved this greatly in the last few years.

I still love my K200D though and my slowly growing DA limited collection won't work on Canon.

I find a tripod invaluable for travel and it only weighs 1.5kg. Without it I'd have far fewer night shots and far fewer shots of my wife and I together. The tripod is the third member of our family when travelling.
