That sounds like a very good price, I paid 45 for mine and considered it a bargain. The other things you'll want to check are the light seals around the door and the mirror bumper. If they've never been changed they will be very disintegrated.

I fpossible, remove the flange from the lens before starting to work on it, this will avoid the (high) risk of damage to the lens elements by taking a hacksaw to an assembled lens.

If it's the ricoh pin, the remedy is to remove it, although some people say it isn't necessary. If you're already having trouble I say remove it.

Removal can be tough because you need to take the mount apart, and they always have an "A" mount, which means there's a bearing that falls out and is unbelievably difficult to get back in place.

I really liked my MZ-S ... it is still sitting there, unused and I wonder if I should sell it on to someone who will make good use of a mint condition one.
The MZ-S? That old thing? I'll give you a tenner for it...

Well done. It looks like it's in very good condition, even appears to have a new mirror bumper.

Very nice. I use my M 85/2 for the same things. I really like the focal length for panoramas of 6 or so photos stitched together. It works very well for cityscapes too, especially if you can get up high somewhere.

From the lack of silver-coloured ring around the focusing ring, this appears to be the version II of the lens, optically the same as the later A version and superior to the version 1 M.

Some nice shots and sharp scans. What film did you use?
