I don't tell her everything because she doesn't understand why more than one lens could possibly be necessary for anything.

When I tell her I've bought a new lens she asks what it does that my other lenses don't. That would involve in-depth photographic explanations involving aperture, functionality, and various qualities of each lens.

She is much more understanding than she used to be, especially after a recent serious illness, she is more appreciative of the things we spend money on to enjoy life, rather than accumulation of wealth.

I should add that (in my view) I control myself very well, especially with regards to new AF lenses (which are the expensive ones) and usually limit myself to one new AF lens per year. Most of my lenses are old manual ones, and only my 85/2 has broken the 100-quid mark (though I was recently lusting after an M 20/4, which thankfully is no longer available.

There is a limit, I don't know how davidstorm above isn't surpassing it, as mine is close to the limit. I haven't had any problem with browsing on mobile devices. Some forums have the option not to see sigs, but I can't remember if this one has it.

I'll take it (unless it's in really bad shape), but it would be nice if you could post a few pics?

I like them and I've no doubt they require a lot of planning and skill to produce, but the large area of visible rebates is distracting.

Can you elaborate on the condition of the MX?

Are the seals and mirror-bumper ok and have they been replaced?
Does the light meter work accurately?
Has the camera been serviced/CLA'd recently?

What is the condition of the 50mm lens?

If there's a variety that sprouts 67 medium format cameras then I'll take a packet of seeds.

From what I've read, the more expensive Metz flashes are better made (maybe even made in Germany?) while the cheaper ones (such as the 44) are less solid. I haven't handled any of the more expensive models. The 44 not bad build quality at all, but it's not up to the high standard of my Yongnuo YN-560.

However, I am happy with the purchase and PTTL will come in handy at times.

I have one. I bought it ex-demo and it arrived with a broken zoom function. After repair it works perfectly and produces good results. I haven't used the PTTL yet, just manual mode. If you're not going to need PTTL then there are better-built Yongnuo models with a little more power at half the price, but I think the Metz 44 is a good buy for a basic PTTL flash. You should be able to get one for that price.
