There are some Sigma 50mm f/2.8 macro lenses around and they are apparently very good and go for reasonable prices (maybe 130 with AF, 80 if manual focus). Those would probably be your best bet. The equivalent Pentax lenses would cost more and are probably less common. The one I see for sale most often is the M series 50mm f/4, but it's a little slow for portraits and manual focus on a DSLR. It usually goes for around a 100 quid.

I wouldn't mind another ME Super as it's one of my favourites, but I'd have to be sure it worked.

I just got a second MZ-5N and was thinking about using the panorama setting which narrows the field of view on top and bottom of the frame. At first it seemed silly, as I can just crop them once scanned, but now I think it will be better to compose using it rather than cropping later.

I will get them developed and probably just scan them myself. I just wanted to know if there's anything I should beware of when using this function, any advice etc.

Thanks

Of course tools make a difference, but limitations spur creativity.

Only have a wide-angle lens and want a portrait? Innovate.

Only have your phone to shoot a scene? Innovate.

Limitations force us to think in different ways and not to just take the shot in the first way that comes into our heads, which will likely only work if we have everything with us, time to prepare and a dose of luck, and that doesn't happy too often.

If your equipment doesn't do what you'd like then do something else that you know it can do.

You can do a basic check of functionality with a couple of batteries (LR44). See if the light meter responds to changes of the aperture ring and if the shutter fires. Make sure you put the batteries in the right way up or it won't do anything.

We Edinburgh folk are a sensible lot.

The 15mm would be very expensive, it's very rare.

The 28mm is worth maybe 40 quid max, the 100mm maybe 100, the 50mm 120 and I don't know about the 300.

That's based on the going rates from what I've seen, but I understand they're all good or exceptional lenses.

Very pretty - not sure I'd pay much extra just for a different colour though.

I use my 35mm macro limited lens (which works very well). I'm not sure about bellows, but extension tubes and a 50mm lens should work fine, as long as the lens is stopped down enough (I usually use f/8 to f/14).
