Digitizing negatives

Hey,
I have bellows and a slide copier, tried using them with a 50mm lens, but it gives a 1.5x crop of the negative. Also tried an 85mm and 135mm lens as suggested in many tutorials, but couldn't even get the negative in focus. Is there a way of doing this without having to buy M42 tubes and what not?

Perhaps someone can upload a picture of their rig?

Cheers,
Aleks

I use my 35mm macro limited lens (which works very well). I'm not sure about bellows, but extension tubes and a 50mm lens should work fine, as long as the lens is stopped down enough (I usually use f/8 to f/14).

Unfortunately I don't have the 35mm Macro, are there other options out there that don't require buying a new lens?

Using the Pentax bellows you need a 60-70mm lens to get the
full slide. (or a zoom lens).

A member of this site posted his setup some time ago...

I use one of these bulbs. The light is very even and diffused.

Daylight or Warm can be used, because you can adjust the colour later. Daylight would give slightly better results.

This is a corrected to mid-grey WARM bulb. You can see
how even the light is.
