Comment by JohnX posted on Need advice on lens combination for Pentax K-01 at 01/03/2013 - 18:40
The cheaper camera is sold by some reseller on Amazon, so I'm slightly dubious. SRS Microsystems are very trustworthy from what I read though, so it might be good just for their excellent reputation as well. My last thought is I can purchase a K-30 with a DA-L lens for £20 more, or buy body-only and purchase a DA-L water resistant lens separately for £60 extra. Any suggestions?

Can't remember the outcome(s). If (a) is 'yes', and (b) offers equivalent protection, then the £20 could be wasted, but ultimately it's your call as to whether to spending £20 for peace of mind (for 2 years) is worth it.

Hi Gents,
A question. If I turn off the SR, is it that there should be no noise at all?.
Cheers

The (very good) pictures of the bridge are in fact of Tower Bridge and none of your shots were from London Bridge

Sometimes, when the power is "on" on the grip, and you happen to touch one of the e-dials, they can move in between two positions and cause problems like the one you describe.

Are both batteries original Pentax or one is a copy?
Reason I ask is I had it happen a couple of times with my original K-5 but as soon as I started using all oem batteries the locking up stopped.
Do you think they both need to be OEM, or just identical, ie 2x Hama?

Hi I have just attached my battery grip to my K5lls and tested the following lens and experienced no problems:
DA* 50 - 135. DA* 16 - 50. DA* 200
Main issue is the K5II is new, and the grip is new to me.
I don't like intermittent faults
Suppose it could always be an escaped Canikon gremlin. I understand there's plenty of them about:evil

Why not just use what you have for a few weeks and you'll soon see what's 'missing', and this should steer you towards your next lens purchase.
