I have a Plustek 7500i neg/slide scanner.

I think if you've got a pre-digital collection of negatives that presumably have a lot of nostalgic or historical value ( or are even still shooting on film ) you'd want to use something a tad better than this smart phone scanner to digitise them.

Product makes no sense to me
Most likely a dedicated scanner would be better, however this is very compact and with my 12MP camera phone, the only way to know how good it is to give it a go. As long as it does not scratch my negatives it's worth a go for me.
Be interested to know how you get on. My problem in the past has been to get the same colours and quality as the original prints.

Issue for me guys is the sheer volume of negs and slide, plus the pp. Guess I'll have to spend time weeding out the dross first, but I'm pretty sure I'll still be left with 100's of negs/slides to digitise.

I can't really see the point of scanning negatives with a smartphone...why not just take pictures with the phone instead? They'll be better quality than scans, and there's enough apps available to make them look like any film you want.
Surely it's the same rationale as any neg scanning? If you have a pre-digital collection of material, OR you're a current analogue fan, you'll probably want the shots available for editing, viewing, etc? I have 1000's of slides/negs from my pre-digital days and would like them more accessible. Also, don't overlook this is from Lomo.

The card size required for updating is much smaller than 32GB.

Pentax state;

"Blank, formatted SD/SDHC card (32MB or more)".

Aussies, what can you do with them?

See my post re setting battery type manually, but, if the camera works with Eneloops, annoying though it might be, don't use anything else. Lifes too short

There's a 'set battery type' option in the K-x set-up menu.

Try setting the specific type rather than leave it on 'auto-detect'.

try "apply all" of 8 and then do individual calibrations again.
Hi, I have the same issue with my K-5 almost all of my lenses have to be +10. Recently I bought 21mm ltd and had to return it as it needed more than +10 units. So sad it is limited only to +/-10, up to 20 should be ideal. I have tried as you recommended, first "apply all" of +10 and then +10 for "this one" and I cannot see any difference. I think you can use either all or one, not a combination of both. In the manual, there is written that using "all" and saved overrides "one".
'Adjust All' and 'Adjust One' are not cumulative, and I don't think the Debug hack is available for the K5, so it'll need mechanical re-calibration.

I'd send off the K5 and a +10 lens for calibration. There's a mechanical adjustment available via the base plate. I have details of 'how-to' for a K20D but not the K5.

Once one lens is accurate I'd guess most/all of the others will be adjustable via AF adjust if required.

Doubt it'll be covered under warranty (but worth a try).

Just a thought ... if it does it when not actually being fired try changing the camera time out to never. It may just be an unlucky timing issue.

As I said in a previous thread about this problem I had it a few times with the original K-5 but (and this just may be coincidence)once I changed the timeout and started using both Pentax batteries in the body and grip it didn't happen again.
I'll give this a try thanks Mike.
