London Bridge

Some from London Bridge this evening...

I'll forgive you Dave 'cos you're from Bradford, but...

The (very good) pictures of the bridge are in fact of Tower Bridge and none of your shots were from London Bridge

I was about to say that. But the pictures are great, the night time lighting is well handled.

Number 1 is a stunner!
Closely followed by number 3.
I think 2 is a little cluttered for me,in-as-much-as too many lights but not enough detail. However, that could be this horible monitor in work.

Yeah... I may be a little bit lost here in the big smoke...

But clearly enjoying the photo opportunities!

Number 3 is streets ahead of the other two IMO.

I'm going to be brutally honest..... no personal offence intended

Number one:

Uninspired boring postcard night shot. You're probably the 1,000,000,001th person to take this shot from this angle

Number Two:

.. is just a mess


but....

Number Three:

... is magnificent!! It's such an inspired and original take on an iconic tourist structure that's been photographed a zillion times. The converging car lights surrounded by the 'Russian doll' effect of the elements of the bridge really works well. Even like the Tower of London making a cameo appearance on the left

My only criticism is that I think you should level it up as it's tilting clockwise a little

You took it from this traffic island I would guess

And just to illustrate my ethos on different and original takes on traditional tourist locations .....

Some of you may know I'm a huge Vivian Maier fan. Vivian takes a trip to the great pyramids and the sphinx. And what does she do? Includes the hindquarters of a horse as the foreground of the shot. You couldn't make it up!!!

Such a superb counterpoint in composition. This is why IMO, Dave's number three shot is street's ahead of the other two

Thanks for putting up the Vivian Maier link again, great stuff. Difficult images to replicate in this day and age where places and faces with that degree of character are a rare find in this sterile halogen lit modern industrial world.

Nice shots Dave, well executed under challenging lighting conditions.
