How about the new Tamron AF 70-300mm VC USD ?
That's what I was suggesting, but it's not made in Pentax fitting.

Not too big and heavy, for the times you don't want or can't accomodate the extra burden.
I want something that will fit in a lightweight kit with say the DA-17-70 and cover 90% of my needs.
