I'm quite glad to hear Pentax will be sticking to the SLR types of camera - it's where they started and is what they probably know more about than most. That doesn't stop me enjoying my Pentax MX-1 compact though, which is a one-off compact gem that I carry all the time.

As for mirrorless/DSLR debates, I guess we'll see, and I suspect it will mean both will go onwards and we can choose what suits us as photographers. There is a lot of excellent choice in the market at the moment.

Once upon a time Vic, all records were 10 or 12 inches and 78rpm. Apart from the smaller Eclipse and Broadcast label ones. Very early 12 inch records were one sided and 80rpm. I wonder why the standard settled on 78 rpm?

Who sheds a tear for the wax cylinder now?

It all depends on the optical design.

For example, most front elements are convex, but a few are concave. I concur that the 16-45mm is an excellent lens.

On the subject of things Dutch, quite a few of the DVD box sets we buy are Dutch. They come in English as per the original, with Dutch subtitles if required. Clearly the Dutch take classic TV seriously as we've bought The Avengers, The Professionals, Blakes 7, Voyage To The Bottom of the Sea and others in this way. The presentation of the material is always of a really high standard.

The silver oxide G13 cell is the one to use for the MX - it takes two of them. Lithium cells should not be used, even if they fit. Not sure why, but that was put in the instructions of later MX cameras when lithium started to appear.

Give SRS a call and I'm sure they could arrange an ultra-fast courier to your hotel or a local post office. Just explain the problem and hopefully within a day you can be back in action.
