Having said that, because I shoot raw DNG, I'm assuming no profiling is applied to the DNG file
Increasingly, we can no longer assume that. This is particularly the case with mirrorless systems, but it's not possible to say that there are no adjustments made by the camera software to RAW capture.

The Lydith 30mm always had a good reputation, but I haven't found one to try on digital yet. The Super Takumar and SMC Takumar lenses are excellent without reservation.

The only issue I can see is the rating of the fuse in the plug. However, I doubt that there are many of us who take proper note of whether the 13A fuses in our mains plug should sometimes be 3A. What the rating should be for the charger is probably 3A or 5A. The consequence of using a 13A fuse is probably not very much, but in the unlikely event of a serious fault the fuse might not blow.

I know it's the photographer and not the camera that's important, but even so the sheer joy of looking through a 6x7cm viewfinder for the first time is something that just needs to be experienced. It inspires a sort of joy in the photography and a photographer enjoying using the kit is I'm sure a better photographer as a consequence. These pictures are great and club outings like this are also a great opportunity. More people should turn up and experience them.

I like this, a great, relaxed street shot.

I used to sell disinfectant sprays when I was a dental supplier, and alcohol sprays denature plastics, so I don't know what the long term effect would be on the finish of the cameras.

This effect used to make the upholstery of dental chairs crack, albeit it over a long period of time.

I do use the Zeiss lens wipes from time to time.

There used to be a Vivitar flash advert showing a rainy window with a sad faced photographer and his Pentax K1000. What can I shoot if rain stops play?

So, if we can't get out and about, what ideas can we share of things to photograph?

My suggestions:

1. Studio portraits
2. Still Life
3. macro
4. A project to make one exceptional image from each room of the house.

Any more ideas?

We've suspended all meetings until at least the end of April. All my bookings for judging have also been cancelled till the end of April. After that, we'll see what happens.

That leaves us with online activities, but also the possibility of visiting places that will now be very quiet. But where?

Arley Hall is still open. English Heritage have closed all their manned sites, although the free ones are still open.

Good choices and you could also consider the SMC Pentax-FA 43mm f/1.9 Limited, which has a special character of its own, being very impressive with the K-1. It's also more expensive.
