Seeing last weeks advert in AP from jacobs for an istd + 18-35 lens for only 749.99 gbp i nearly collapsed! When I got myself together I went to their website to find that their best pice was in fact 1149.99gbp. I emailed them to ask if they had ever sold one at the lower price, or if it was just an attempt to get people to visit their shops/website.
They replied a little angrily, saying that it was a simple printing error and they would never indulge in advertising fictitious prices. So if anyone else noticed it, don't bother emptying your piggy bank just yet!

I'm getting pretty desperate now! If some of you knowledgeable types could take a look at my problem in the troubleshooting section, it would be most helpful.
thanks

Thanks john, I guess I could always leave them stuck together and have it as a 100 mm portrait lens, it certainly works well as that anyway.

My favourite lens, 50mm f1.7 is stuck to my 2x teleconverter! when i try to remove it, it will turn half way and then it just stops (sounds and feels normal until then) any ideas?

I use one on all three of my slr's. They do work, in doubling the focal length, but they also reduce the amount of light reaching the film. Not really a problem in good light, but in poor or fast changing light it can be a pain. I've just bought a 300mm fixed telephoto lense to get around this problem.
It does make my 50mm f1.7 into a nice portrait lense though.

My P30t is a very nice camera, has a good shutter speed range, loads of flashes available for it and obviously a great lense range. It's possibly because i always wanted an me super that i like the me more? But the me does feel nicer in my hands for some reason.
I bought both on ebay, paying 30 quid for the p30t including 28-80 A zoom and soft case, the previous owner being a photography student. I paid about the same for the ME Super. There are an awful lot of them on there.

I wanted an ME Super when they first came out but as a poor student, I couldn't afford it. I recently bought myself an me super and a p30t and I am much happier using the me super, i think it's a great camera.
It may be cheaper than you think for a repair, it would be worth emailing the camera repairer through his website. www.camerarepairs-r-us.co.uk

Ahem......thought I should come clean and update you all on this........since I have started following instructions and using a viewfinder cap, my red cast problems have disappeared! Perhaps I should follow instruction more often.........
