Istd advertising

Seeing last weeks advert in AP from jacobs for an istd + 18-35 lens for only 749.99 gbp i nearly collapsed! When I got myself together I went to their website to find that their best pice was in fact 1149.99gbp. I emailed them to ask if they had ever sold one at the lower price, or if it was just an attempt to get people to visit their shops/website.
They replied a little angrily, saying that it was a simple printing error and they would never indulge in advertising fictitious prices. So if anyone else noticed it, don't bother emptying your piggy bank just yet!

Yeah I had a disappointment with them earlier this year. Saw the *istD on their w.s. for circa £800 and when I checked the next day (I almost jumped at it) it was back up to over a grand. Rang to check, and lo! They'd sold out of the cameras at that price. duh? Glad I waited really as I guess prices will come down with the new model(s) maybe.

This is not the first time I have heard of or experienced this sort of thing, which may be an innocent mistake but leaves one with suspicions....For some reason quite a few of the incidents I have come across have all had the *istD as a common feature!
