I had a Pentax AF 28-80 3,5 / 4,5 macro zoom lens in stock from my SF7 days.
This is not the SMC version, but I am finding the results are pretty good, and find it better than the kit 18 55 for flower shots.

Plus points
Faster than kit lens 4,5 @ 80 kit 5,6 @ 55
Grater reach saves stepping on the garden
Can be had from e-bay for £10/20

Minus points
Front element rotates so lens hood is a problem
Doesn’t go as wide, not a problem for me as I tend to want to get closer
It is heavy 390 g kit 225 g

As this lens looks as popular as a rattle snake in a lucky dip, it looks like a very cheap way to try a longer standard zoom, before paying out for a 17-70

Has anyone got hold of a 17-70 yet? If yes wad dyar fink.

Have a look at the Tamrac Velocity Sling Pack

I have the Tamrac Velocity 7, that will take my K10 with a 55-300 fitted with room for 2 similar sized lenses. It is very convenient to use and doesn’t look like a camera bag.

Mick & Mike

Sorry I haven’t been able to get back to you sooner but it should be collected by a forum member who is visiting Ledbury today. (yet another Mike)
I will let you know if the collection doesn’t go ahead.
I will have to see what else I have in stock.

Hi G

I don’t know about that, I am just trying to help a fellow enthusiast.

The idea is not to supply Ebay food for people, and I would hope that this would not happen within a close and friendly group.

I know that I can’t control what happen to it but let’s hope that the moral code of this group is stronger than the desire to make a few quid.

Free to a good home
Pentax AF400FTZ flash (angle, swivel and zoom) fully working with case.
This is a TTL flash thus not a lot of help on a K10, but ok on all TTL body’s.
You will have to collect or pay postage.
Location Ledbury Herefordshire

Hi Matt

Thanks for your speedy reply, I have been trying Silkypix free but not having your experience I have no point of reference and I didn’t want to spend time getting to know a programme only to find that I had chosen the wrong path.

The capture one offer has expired as LE in discontinued.

Any way from your comment I think I will buy Silkypix and get to know it safe in the knowledge that it is a sound programme.

Thanks again.

Help required from the master (MattMatic)
Mat
I have recently got back into Pentax SLR photography and could do with help regarding editing software.
I noticed that you have written guides on both Silkypix and C1, which do you prefer for editing Pentax raw files?
I am looking to do no more than enhancement, I am not looking for special effects.

Thanks for any help you may be able give.

As Pentax have upgraded 18-55 to suit the K20 do you think that the full range will upgraded over time to get the best out of it?
