Hi Jim,
Both SP and C1 are capable packages and I have used both extensively.
However, I find that Silkypix Developer Studio gives consistently better detail and colour - especially with high ISO images (which I use a lot). So, it's Silkypix for me.
However, before you shell out $150, try the free version - it may do all that you need Added to that, Capture One comes with many Sandisk Extreme cards for free (or at least it did).
My advice - try both and stick with the one that gives results for you.
Hope that helps!

Hi Matt
Thanks for your speedy reply, I have been trying Silkypix free but not having your experience I have no point of reference and I didn’t want to spend time getting to know a programme only to find that I had chosen the wrong path.
The capture one offer has expired as LE in discontinued.
Any way from your comment I think I will buy Silkypix and get to know it safe in the knowledge that it is a sound programme.
Thanks again.
Jim

I have recently got back into Pentax SLR photography and could do with help regarding editing software.
I noticed that you have written guides on both Silkypix and C1, which do you prefer for editing Pentax raw files?
I am looking to do no more than enhancement, I am not looking for special effects.
Thanks for any help you may be able give.
Jim
