+1 on Red Snapper. Sturdy and good value. Been impressed with mine (though I don't use it all that much, which should be corrected). As Dangermouse has pointed out they are all metal and the heads are smooth and good quality too. I'm happy with mine!

I love Ektar just for that reason, when you get the exposure right it's absolutely incredible film! These were all taken in Hungary in a town called Eger (girlfriend is Hungarian so these aren't technically holiday snaps!!!).

Been trying really hard to sort exposure with low ASA film, was pleased with the way these came out.

Film really has got me hooked, Ektar for 80's Kodak ColorPlus 200 for 70's aesthetics!

I've just received a copy from eBay and it seems pretty good for the £10 I got it for!

It seems to be a well thought of zoom lens?

The ES will operate without batteries in full manual mode, so yep think it must be mechanical. Get the test film back at the end of the week so will find out if the meter is accurate too!

There is! Plenty of suppliers of film about still and a surprising amount of people still using older film cameras! It's worth having a go!

OH well. It does have a problem!! Every fifth exposure, the shutter doesn't fully retract thereby leaving darkness......

Possibly mechanical in origin? Or possibly due to the battery having low charge?

Potentially looks like I'll be saving up for Harrow Technicals' expertise again!

This ES has the stop down lever button missing so no older Taks.... I have two Spotmatic F's for playing with nice M42 lenses too!

Reading the old broichures I do like the sound of the 35mm. I think that would suit my shooting style quite well. I have a 55mm Super Takumart on one Spottie that is a really superb B+W combo. (Got a Helios 58mm M42 coming soon as well to play with).

You need the SMC Tak 28mm f3.5 now to complete the set!
I know....... It's finding one! At a reasonable price. I like the Takumars, really good lenses.

Only cost me £12. Even if it does have problems can't really complain.
