Well I have never put a picture up in here for C&C so thought I'd get around to it now.

Was out mucking about with a 50mm manual, and out of all the shots taken these were the 2 that I seem to like, so thought I'd see what kind of feedback I could get good, bad or indifferent.

Nice review there, the astro-trace is the first reason I have been toying with getting one of these, the tagging is a nice addition for me.

Managed a few extra quid off with the £20 credit after the lens buy as well

Thanks for the feedback

I got bit on ebay once for a LCD monitor once, and the usual once bitten and all that, was also really looking to keep the higher resolution 1920x1200 rather than the 1080p seeing as getting new, it seems that 24" is the minimum for that resolution, thanks anyway.

Looks like the Dell is getting most of the votes.

Dell Ultrasharp U2412M 24 inch IPS Widescreen LED Monitor

Had mine a year and its great, would buy another with no hesitation.

Glad somebody else is using it Robin, the Dell seems to be the heavier, is the base nice and weighty for rotating the screen, as the room I am in with the computer has one of floors that transmits wobbles to the desk when folk walk by, just a bit of reassurance really.

Thanks

I have been looking to upgrade my monitor, now with my remaining budget (just bought the 55-300 ) I have pretty much got it down to one of these 2

http://www.amazon.co.uk/-/dp/B00913GHP4?tag=invihand-21

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dell-Ultrasharp-U2412M-Widescreen-Monitor/dp/tech-data/B...=de_a_smtd

Anybody who knows their stuff on these please help, open to other options but the budget is pretty much set around this point give or take £20-30.

Part of the reason I am looking at these was the higher resolution.

I have just removed mine (hoya) off my lenses, was mucking about taking pictures of the tree decorations, some close-up with slow shutter and was getting some horrendous flares. Thing was only after downloading the card I realised what the cause was, removed the filter on the next attempts no flare at all.

Still have the CPL in the bag, and going to experiment with the ND grads in the near future, more to see if I am going to use them then maybe upgrade them in the future. But as far as going with the permanently fitted skylight/UV filters not any longer.

My favourite this year technically all wrong, but a great shot of my wee daughter just caught in a nice pose at the right time, and me literally with the camera out of the box, could also be the one with the bright pink potty in the background, sure you get the jist.

As for the lake district shots, on my doorstep but I think I have binned just about all my efforts so not even close.
