Solved!! Thank you all for your help, especially John Riley and Gwyn.
The RAW files were coming from my camera as PEF files. (Didn't know they could be changed in the menus). I must have done this myself without knowing! Seem to remember keeping tight hold of my camera in a crowd of people and my settings had altered. Thought I'd righted them but didn't have my spectacles on.
Best wishes
Ian

I have a Pentax K5 and shoot RAW and jpeg. When I open my raw files in PS, they have always opened in Adobe Camera Raw until today. All of my RAW files have turned into PEF files. Help please.

Hello folks. I'm new to these competitions and have just uploaded a photo for it but have just realised that it needs to be shot in September. Mine is an old one, so delete it if you wish. I will attempt another shot later. However, my main reason for posting is to ask either John or Stan if there is a limit to the number of shots I can enter.
Thanks
Ian

Thanks. I've just done this and now I'll see if it makes a difference. I will let you know if it works.
Ian

I presume that Windows is wanting to see sRGB files, so perhaps you are shooting in AdobeRGB? If that's the case, your images may well always look too light.
Sorry for the delay in responding John.
I am shooting in sRGB and my colour space in PS is sRGB. I will try what Steven suggests and download WLPG.
Thanks
Ian

This is a great shot Barrie. You have a good eye for composition and colour. Keep this up. Your abstracts are superb. I might try one or two myself!
