Hi there,

Title says it all....

Just had a quantity of 16-50s in stock - we are the first in the UK, and possibly the world?!?

Will be phoning people - there may be 1 or 2 spare as I have not had my full allocation.

Price is £529 - can do free P+P for forum users - just let me know when I phone as people user names are often very different to their 'real' names!

Chris
Thanks for the phone call

Ned Bunnell has some photographs taken with the DA* 16-50 just posted on his website.

So at least one example of the lens exists

I don't feel qualified to comment on the images, so I will leave that to others

This is about the price that they are listed at in the US, so it is pretty good, around £100 less than most UK prices
It might mean that Pentax has now fixed the pricing finally, which in turn might mean that their arrival is imminent.

Or it might mean that Devon Camera forgot to add the VAT.

There's plenty of mights about.

What a difference a few hours makes

The price is now £529.99

The Devon Camera Centre is advertising the forthcoming 16-50 DA* lens for £459.99 which is £90 below list price with stock expected in 14 days.

This price is well below the price that anyone else is advertising the lens for.

Does this mean that the RRP has fallen due to the long delay in the lens actually arriving or that the Devon Camera Centre is far more competitive than anyone else or ???????????

You found me out, I'm indeed a fan of Hoshisato Mochiru, the mangaka, and I spend a lot of vacation in Japan on account of my wife being Japanese.

I have another problem.

I quite often take photographs of boats that are moving along and going up and down from my own boat that is also moving along and going up and down

Quite a challenge when using my Sigma 75-300 lens.

Why would anyone buy a K10D body from Jessops for £30 more than a K10D + 18 - 55 lens :

I find that I am buying most things from the internet now, whether it is photographic equipement, marine equipment or whatever.

Having said that virtually all of the internet retailers that I use are also shops e.g. SRS Microsystems.

Many internet retailers that are also shops now offer an order online service with pick up at the nearest store.

I would have thought that Jessops could only survive by offering competitive prices coupled to knowledgeable service.

I have read a few more reviews of Photoshop Elements 5, all of them very positive and have now just ordered it from Warehouse Express (£55).
