John,

Thank you for the information.

Photoshop Elements 5 is well reviewed by PCPro and available at a modest cost.

But I shall just see what other comments there are before finally deciding.

I do not have any photoprocessing software at the moment.

This decision was originally taken for me by the inability of my computer to handle the software.

However I have now replaced my computer, so is Photoshop the software to buy :

We do have one copy of Photoshop at work, which is on a colleague's machine.

I am normally too busy using Autocad.

How do you make an avatar small enough to comply with the size constraints set by the forum :

Can anyone recommend a realistically priced ball head for a cheap and cheerful monopod :

I agree.

Chris @ SRS has very competitive prices and is extremely helpful.

Thanks everyone for the input.

I have decided to purchase a Pentax 18-55 from Chris @ SRS as a 'stop-gap' until the DA* lenses arrive.

I bought my K10D as a body only in the belief that the DA* lenses would arrive in March

I currently have nothing wider than an A-series 35-70 zoom and an M-series 28mm prime.

Should I purchase a Pentax 18-55 kit lens (currently very cheap) as an interim measure, knowing that it will never be used again once the DA* lenses arrive or just be patient and put up with the lack of any wide angle capability until Pentax get around to producing the DA* lenses :

............ I wonder if these are going to be the camera equivalent of the PS3. That is, looks good at announcement, finally arrives 18 months after the competition with a severely reduced spec.
I agree.

I will believe all of it when I see it.

If Sony have struggled to get PS3 to the market place in anything like a realistic timescale and have found themselves out-manoeuvred in the meantime by the opposition, why should I believe some 'huff and puff' designed to keep shareholders happy.
