What is your most wanted lens and why? (can be unreleased)

I think I'll have to post two

Pentax SMC-A 50mm F1.2

Fastest lens available, very soft wide open with shallow DoF. Very sharp stopped down a bit, very clear. Inside my perfect FoV (40-90mm) and perspective (40-60mm) range.

Pentax SMC-DA* 55mm F1.4 SDM

Similar reasons plus fast AF and weather sealed! Hopefully it will also be available unlike the old lens which is hard to find, not as hard as other lenses though.

50-135 F2.8 SDM

Fast AF on a fast enough lens for indoor sports. covers my most used range in fencing photography (currently covered by 50, 90 and 135 primes) with added versatility and no loss of speed except at 50mm. Also will probably be better quality than my 135 prime since it's an old F2.5 Tak Bayonet without SMC.

31mm Ltd.

For obvious reasons.

But in Black, not Silver...

I'd expected this thread to move a little faster.

All good choices and I must say a very difficult decision to choose just one. I have a list of three that I'd deem a perfect set but I did ask for one (and I already broke that )

it's certainly true that they used to have one on their website, can't see it anymore though. Perhaps some lucky soul finally stumped up the £400 asking price.

I never saw it, and £400 I was expecting between £150 and £300 not quite 400.

I'll find that lens and whoever bought it!

This was not intended as a torture people with news the lens they want Especially not me

My A50F1.7 will do for now.

thats a good point, should be nothing to stop them doing a PC lens based on a 35mm compatible ultra wide. Would be pricey though and limited audience probably means it wont happen

Hi Y'all,

A 20mm M or A or even 42mm screw would be nice. All look to costly for this poor boy.
