Not quite as rare as first thought then!

Putting tubes on the camera end is one way of getting around the problem though as it gives you the extra clearance required. The only drawback is that you then have no control over that last few mm of backwards travel.

Still no sign of the Ennalyt - I've asked eBay if they'll be making a part refund of my listing fees for that one in the hope that might give them a kick in the right direction...

You'll have to start selling off some of your old kit to make house space Clarky. I think I might have a Voigtlander 125mm-shaped hole here somewhere if that would help you out?

My "spare" is 1500mAh (Hahnel branded) and I can't say I've ever noticed an appreciable difference between it and the original when it comes to time between charges. But then I've never actually measured it in a scientific fashion.

That's how I got them on, but only once as I found getting them off again to be a bit heart-stopping! I'll stick with my Bellows II...

The Tele-Ennalyt still isn't showing up in searches which is annoying - just in my eBay. Typical that the one they hold back is the star of the show!

Anyway, feel free to bid away - it's all good stuff.

My first clearance sale of 2010 is now live!

You can check out the items here: Hefty's eBay goodies.

The auctions all start at 99p, no reserve and finish just after 6pm GMT next Tuesday (2nd Feb). If anyone from the forum buys one of my lenses let me know at the end of the auction and I'll chuck in a free UV/Skylight filter of an appropriate size.

The lenses are:

Asahi Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 35mm f/3.5
Asahi Super Takumar 55mm f/2
Asahi Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 135mm f/3.5 (with matching hood)
Carl Zeiss Jena Flektogon Auto MC 35mm f/2.4
Hanimex Automatic 35mm f/2.8
Prinzgalaxy 35mm f/3.5 Preset
Jupiter 11A 135mm f/4 (with matching hood and keeper)
ENNA Munchen Tele-Ennalyt 135mm f/2.8 (boxed with keeper)

The bellows are a very old (and rare) Asahi unit which is marked for the original (M42) 55mm and 58mm Takumars. No removeable camera mount so useless on digital as the flash overhang gets in the way, pretty minty and suitable for use/display with an early Pentax body though.

As at the time of writing the Tele-Ennalyt isn't showing up in searches but should (hopefully!) be visible by the morning.

In the 1970s in particular there was a trend of companies buying the rights to old names. They then sold cheap lenses under those names, presumably to make us think they had a pedigree that was actually just not there.
Now they buy the rights and sell us expensive lenses instead - Cosina / Voigtlander...

At least some of the pedigree has survived this time though so they're learning.

Well if you can find a picture of its Vivitar twin and grab the serial number you can find out who made it from the Cameraquest website.

According to that page Vivitar used 16 different sub contractors from the 70's to the 90's so take your pick.

I have to say that looks *nothing* like its earlier namesakes!

The Travenar I had was made by A.Schacht and looked like these: Exacta Mount Travenars

On the sixth and seventh photos down you can see the interactive DOF scale I was on about - as you move the aperture ring the red portions move behind the transparent window to show what'll be in focus. The lenses were full of nice little design touches and as well built as any others I've ever come across, hence my search for an M42 version to see if the optics lived up to the impression given by the build.
