It looks like the V300 can only scan one strip of 35mm negatives at a time and has no holder at all for 120 format. I use the V600 which is very good and has twice the capacity (as well as the medium format film holder) - if the V300 gives similar results (and your friend has no MF / doesn't mind doing twice the loads for 35mm) then I'd say go for it.

Why not parcel the lenses up and send them off to Hefty, I'm sure he would jump at the chance to play with them, though looking at his comprehensive tests it may be a while before you get them back
I'd be willing to help out for the good of the forum - you could expect to see the results around about the year 2050...

I agree with John, that the different exposures with the two differnt cameras doesn't help with the comparisons, in reality I should switch the lenses over and re-shoot the test. any ideas on how or what I should shoot to get a definitive result, as I said running these tests is not really my go, so I will take on board any tips you may have.
This was the last test I did - feel free to copy my methods to your heart's content buddy.

From the above I prefer the Pentax, but both of them look much nicer than that horrible Voigtlander you've got - surely it's time you found a new home for that one? I might even take it off you as a favour...

Yep, mine does the same - it's quite normal (plus I've sold a Samsung-badged version on eBay and that did the same too). Someone did explain once that it was something to do with the clamp but I can't remember exactly what they said.

In a nutshell: Don't panic, just enjoy it. It's a very fine lens.

Looking back it was actually an A35-105 which makes it a double crying shame! Here's a picture I took before selling it on for spares/repairs:

You can see where the shattered filter left road rash all over the front.

front lens element needing protection - its cheaper to replace a UV/skylight/whatever filter when you drop a lens/camera, than it is to replace an entire lens surely?
The front element is very hard and suprisingly resistant, filters generally aren't.

I picked up a M35-70 (I think ) as part of a job lot and that had been dropped with a UV filter on - the front element was absolutely covered in scratches where the filter had shattered and tiny fragments of glass had dug their way in. There's no doubt in my mind that if no filter had been in place the damage would have only been a fraction of what it was...

I've no experience of the longer lenses but the shorter ones (28, 35, 135) that have passed through my hands have all been solid, if unremarkable, performers with above average build for third party lenses. Not really what you're asking I know, but I doubt there's many on here that have used the longer ones - try one for yourself and see.

I didn't sell it, I had an offer on my DA50-200 that was too good to refuse so I flogged that instead and (for now) I'm keeping the Tammy.

Don't worry though, these come up a lot on here - it's not exactly a rare lens...

Womble's link leads to one of his entries in the Pentax Photo Gallery - unfortunately when it's being particularly slow to load (like tonight) then all you see is a blank page for what seems like ages.

Of course the solution is to buy your own copy of the Tammy and take some photos - then you'll know exactly how it performs. And this must be your lucky day as I happen to know where there's a really nice one going cheap...
