I did the test this morning and of course you're absolutely right - I'd never have guessed that for myself!

I was convinced of this, too, until Mannesty put me right.

Check out this thread.
That's interesting! I'll have to take a shot in the mirror later to see for myself (not that I don't believe you, it's just one of those things I'd like to see with my own eyes).

It does seem odd that the control flashes coincide with the actual exposure but I suppose there must be a good reason for that...

Don't forget from the Fn menu you need to set the flash mode to wireless (the icon on the far right that didn't exist before you upgraded the firmware).

The options in the Custom menu allow you to set whether the built-in flash contributes to the picture or not; "Master" means it fires as well as the remote flash, "Commander" means only the remote flash fires during the exposure (although the built in still fires prior to the exposure in order to communicate the settings to the remote flash).

See if that works now.

Fortunately, the council street cleaners must have noticed the stickers too on Sunday and they have now been removed!
Good! I'm rather fond of our lions.

Congratulations Mike on a deserved victory and well done to McBrian on a very difficult judging job.

Technically I think the picture's nice enough but I agree with Hyram that a few steps to the left would have given a better perspective. Also, for a market, it seems strangely lacking of people - a bit more hustle and bustle going on would have given this picture more interest I think (I understand that you probably had no control over that part, especially as you were just "passing through", so that's more of a general observation).

So what does GCSE photography involve then? We didn't have anything quite so interesting when I was at school!

And congratulations on getting accepted into the Pentax Photo Gallery - you have a pretty good eye for photos but this just isn't one of your better ones imo...

Does anyone know of a (UK) release date / price for this lens yet? I'm getting excited like a kid at Christmas here!

BTW does the pop up flash still flash when using it in wireless mode or does it just control the off camera flash :
Either. In the custom menu you'll find an option for the built in flash to either contribute to the exposure while triggering the remotes or not, the choice is yours.

<snip> What does the Amperage number (Mah) mean then?</snip>
Think of it as a measure of how much charge a battery can hold when it's full; the higher the number, the more charge the battery can hold and the longer it will work for before being re-charged again.
