it had sensor cleaning added, but all K100D's have shake reduction.

it was the K110D which didn't.

(is this thread getting complex or what?)
LOL! I never could keep up!

In which case, I too am happy to stand corrected.

You could use it with the 2 second delay - that should give the aperture time to close down before the picture's taken. Better than nothing!

Hi Terje,
Well why when I turn on Traceys K100D Super does it vibrate like my K20D?
The K100D and the K100D Super are different cameras - the "Super" part refers to the fact it has had shake reduction / sensor cleaning added to its spec. It replaced the K100D mid-run.

And if you are using manual focus lenses?
Then you're stuck with just the centre point unfortunately

Makes a change - normally it's me that thinks of something only to find someone else has beaten me to the punch...

I'm a fan of square crops and I think you made the right selection in this case. I'm not a huge fan of the green background either but sometimes you just have to work with what you have - the focus and depth of field look spot on though.

I like this composition - don't often see the underside of a swan's beak so it makes this a little unusual. Good spot!

Over here we call that a Summer Holiday

Was it worth it? Yes! The sky in the first shot is absolutely gorgeous.

Doesn't the "SEL" position just use the same 'user selected' focus point? If the middle one is selected, there's no difference between it and the centre spot setting.
Absolutely! But as often as not my subject isn't in the centre of the frame, so rather than use the centre spot and re-composing I just compose first then switch to the focus point that's nearest my subject. Works much better for me and has now become second nature (with my right thumb always hovering over the directional pad) - your mileage may, as ever, vary...

I always used to use the centre point and re-compose, but I've found I've had a much better in-focus hit rate since I started using the selected point instead. Now the camera's pretty much permanantly set to "SEL".
