After a cold and soggy night of tent camping, specifically to be there for sunrise with a friend, I awoke to an even colder morning to capture a cloudy sunrise over Lake Dunn, in Village Creek State Park, Arkansas.

Was it worth it? I don't know. I ate rain with my dinner, the firewood ran out too fast, temp hovered around freezing, and the sleet that fell the next afternoon convinced us to just go home. My own bed has never felt better.

Over here we call that a Summer Holiday

Number two for me, I like the colours in the trees.

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated.

BTW, our summer vacation would be temps around 100F, pterodactyl-sized mosquitos, and humidity you have to push your way through like a stage curtain.

I like number 2, as Father Ted says the colours of the trees make it for me.

Note to self: don't visit Memphis in summer, or autumn, spring maybe???
