The best time to buy any camera body is when it's being phased out. Prices will be around 50-60% of launch and any bugs should have been ironed out with firmware updates etc.

I'd like a K-5 but I'll wait until everyone's drooling over the K-3 before parting with my cash...

Hi can anybody help i have a K7 and just bought a Samsung 54pfz secondhand. The flash works perfectly in the hot shoe but does not fire in wireless off camera.Am I doing something wrong or is the flash not compatible or not working correctly. Bernie
You should really start a new thread for this as it's not relevant to the above content, but as a quick start have you made sure both flash *and* camera are switched to wireless mode, and that the pop-up flash on the camera is in the "up" position?

I just spat my tea out at that news too!

can you still get film that is in date?
It's just regular 120 film for either of them, I get mine from 7dayshop.com and have it processed at Genie Imaging (£1.99 a roll). It's still in production and there are even new emulsions being launched.

I've got a Ross Selfix 16.20 and Selfix 820 , which I got as part of job lot.

Crikey, wonder how much they are worth?
About three-quarters of b****r all unfortunately. The Selfix models are neither rare nor particularly sought-after, but they are actually very good if you get a working one (the Epsilon shutters aren't always very sturdy).

You should put a film through them - the 820 in particular can give excellent results. Even the 16-20 with a Rosstar (or better still, a Ross Xpres) will give you results that will blow any 35mm camera out of the water (even Leicas) simply because of the comparatively huge negatives. Cheapest way into medium format you'll find.

It's on my watch list so I'll check in a week or so to see if any feedback has been left on the sale

That is such a highly unliklely sale. If I were the seller I'd not expect to ever get paid on that one.
I thought the same at first, but then going back over previous sales I couldn't find any previous data at all on that model - which makes me wonder if it isn't some sort of ultra-rarity..? There's been 19 bids so obviously more than one person thinks it's worth silly money.

It's not a Lotsa though.
There's an Ensign Autorange 820 on eBay right now with the bidding standing at £828

I've bought and sold a few Ensign Selfix models but never for that sort of money! Suffice to say I'm keeping my eyes peeled at car boot sales from now on...

I'd say it was probably worth about what it fetched. A dealer would no doubt split the lot up and sell it for around double that, but when you sell an outfit all in one lot you usually find you get around half the price of the individual items combined.

It can actually be some of the accessories (especially if they're rare) that make the largest profits when they're sold on. Assuming that they're genuine Pentax ones, not third party that is.

Also, lenses for the 645 are starting to creep up in price since the 645D was launched - if those are FA versions then the buyer got a very good deal indeed!

It's completely normal. The sensor is held in place by electromagnets around its circumference - that's how it compensates for shake. The shake reduction only kicks in at the time of capture so the rest of the time the sensor is free to move within its "cage".
