Get the bigger kit this time - there's a *lot* more material for not much more money. Bargain!

That's a seriously large tripod head!

In answer, no the Ricoh doesn't seem to have a DoF preview (unless I'm being completely blind / dim that is - always a possibility ).

Hefty... was it the Sonnar you were after when you ended up with a trunk full of camera bits?
Nope, I was down the auction bidding on some nice Doulton china and saw this Zeiss Pancolar 50/1.8 winking at me from a crate of camera junk - dug a little deeper, saw what else was in there and decided to have a bid on that too. Proving to be quite profitable so far!

Not really had a proper play with the Pancolar yet but it hasn't grabbed me the same way the Sonnar did so I may well sell that too eventually; although I'll see if it grows on me first...

I don't know off hand but I'll have a look in the morning and report back - there was so much stuff and so little time to get acquainted with it...

And don't worry too much about the Chinon being worn, I reckon there's a good bit of life in her yet.

Dan, yes there was but I didn't notice the thread until after I'd started these unfortunately

Well done Peter for winning and Martin for judging and to all the entrants for some high quality shots - I'm also quite chuffed with third place!

I prefer it without the twigs too. There's nothing wrong with a little Photoshop "tweaking" as long as the aim isn't to deliberately deceive imo - this is just a simple enhancement and very well done too I might add!

You set the aperture to the desired value and then focus when it's (O)pen, then (C)lose it down to actually take the photo.

Never used one though, it'll be interesting to see your results.
