I like the last one of the honey eater. If it wasn't for the shape of the bill I'd say it looks a lot like a female blackbird.

I don't think you need any tips, you've done a great job on these

Mine tends to be used in the manual selection mode. I have my AF set to trigger via the AF button only (not on half-press of the shutter) so I compose in the viewfinder, use my thumb to select the appropriate AF point and then press the AF button. Works well for me anyway!

I don't do skiing or bird photography but I do sometimes do some motorsport; with that I tend to predict where the car's going to be and then pre-focus (often manually) so all I have to do is then hit the shutter at the right time.

Welcome to the forum! Is that your 99 in your gallery picture by any chance? If it is I'm highly envious...

You are not really missing much by not having the software. I don't think that there are many here that use the Pentax supplied software.
Just me at last count

I can't comment on the optics of the new kit lens (although I'm sure they're identical to the current one) but it did feel a more "quality" item in the hand than the Mk1 & Mk2 versions. Slightly heavier but all the rings turned more smoothly and the plastic seemed higher grade. I'd certainly get one if I was buying a K-7, as you say for £30 it's got to be worth it!

I was grinning from ear-to-ear after trying the movie mode, the continuous shooting (really fast), the AF in live view, the orientation-sensing rear panel, the whisper-quiet shutter, the... Well, you get the idea.

Wonderful camera, can't wait for it to be nearly out of production so I can buy one cheap!

I tried it with a DA70 by the way and it was impressively light and compact and focussed very fast with screw-drive lenses.

Sorry Hefty the Z-pro use better quality filters out from the Pro range, the Z-pro and X-pro use the same glass but difference size.
With the P filter you get more colour cast and the likes.
Then I'll stand corrected

@Hefty were do you use our ND for, I only used my twice... so to behonest a waste of money in my case
I do use GND for landscapes and such.
I don't use straight ND filters (I have a couple that have been thrown in with old cameras and lenses that I've bought but never felt the need for them), only graduated ones which I use for balancing the sky in landscapes. The three GNDs in the Cokin P kit plus a couple of Hoya CPLs are all I ever use with digital, however, I've still got a bag full of various colour and effect filters that get used when I shoot the odd film.

In my opinion, Ventilation and air movement are the real secret. A sealed box, if it has any humidty in it, would aggravate the problem.
I think you hit the nail on the head there. If it were me I'd get an old cupboard and keep it in a shady part of the house (away from direct sun) and drill some holes in either side to let the air flow through - that should do the trick
