Sounds like a glitch - no complicated piece of electronics is immune to them unfortunately. If it starts happening on a regular basis then I'd say you've got a strong case for getting the camera replaced under warranty, if it's just a one-off though (quite likely) then I wouldn't worry too much about it.

There are some very happy user here so I believe it's a good lens, maybe not the best but still good for that money.

Just a question about the lens, just a tiny bit of topic.
Does the lens have quick-shift?

In the folder I've of Pentax it does not report that feature you see, so I'm curious if that is a fault or not.
The DA50-200 L doesn't have Quick-Shift I believe. Although I think it's only sold in the kit with the K-m. The regular DA50-200 (plus the new WR version and the Samsung badged version) certainly does.

Zoom lenses with constant apertures will always command more money than those with variable ones - the former are generally considered to be the "pro" optics and the latter "consumer" optics.

In the real world, once stopped down to about f/8 I doubt you'd notice much, if any, difference between them.

Am I being an idiot. The weekly comp is held in the Gallery section. The fortnightly in a thread in here, the competition section?

Thanks
Doug
That's right.

Before we had a Gallery on this website the weekly comp was held in a thread here, when it moved at the time of the site re-design some people wanted to carry on with a competition that was thread-based and so the fortnightly comp was born with slightly different rules.

Any reduction in size is there with Olympus and I dont see too many people jumping on board with them.
Not noticed that Olympus and Panny can't make enough EP1's and GF1's quickly enough then?

As for the question, I'm not going to go through all my reasoning again (as this subject has been covered many times) but it boils down to:

No I don't want Pentax to make a "full frame" camera because I sincerely believe it would be the death-knell for them as a company and I'm rather fond of Pentax. If they did make one and it did, as I suspect, drag them under then I'd be jumping ship to Oly.
