The wider shot is in my view much better - technically good and tells the whole story

thanks,

I like it as well, technically very good, it does leaves me wondering exactly what the work is - and how you managed to keep the 'workers' still for 4 second exposure

I can confirm that it is Pentax only, I asked the question as I use both a K20d and a Samsung GX1S and was told definitely Pentax only.

My one and only acceptance to the gallery used 50mm and tubes

I'd recommend extension tubes as a starting point in macro

The club that I belong to was formed from a City and Guilds photography course group who didn't want to disband at the end of the course - I'm sure I have heard some of them refer to one of the course tutors as Christine

No,

Although I have a feeling that some of the long standing members may do - I'll enquire when we meet on Thursday.

John,

I think you may be thinking of A. J. Dufton in Oldham, still in business I think but not recommended by members of the Oldham based photography club that I attend.

Edit - Just read the earlier posts in this thread - Dufton may be OK if you just want confirmation that the lens is dead

I'm in the minority in my local photography club ( one other Pentax user) but have had some success in their competitions - 1 first, 2 second and 1 third place.

As others have said the equipment used is not critical - whilst cameras and lenses can make a difference the person behind the lens is far more important.

I'm not really in the market for a K7 but at the price this was advertised at it could almost have been funded by selling my K20 and GX1S bodies.
As you have pointed out a bit of research shows that it isn't exactly a good deal.
