I'm not really in the market for a K7 but at the price this was advertised at it could almost have been funded by selling my K20 and GX1S bodies.
As you have pointed out a bit of research shows that it isn't exactly a good deal.

HMRC are working closely with freight and courier companies such as FedEx, DHL, UPS &c to identify shipments of dutiable items.
With these imports, local sales and thus taxes drop so the government needs to ensure they are appropriately taxed. Never assume (or even hope) that it might get through tax free as they know what to look for and who is shipping. They even x-ray some shipments to see what is inside packages.
If a false value is placed on the item you will be taxed on the full UK (ex VAT)sale price and be charged a penalty fee too.

So we can’t just pay the difference if caught, as we would if we were an MP.

This is from 2005 but still relevant I think. Digital cameras are duty free but must pay VAT. Film cameras attract 4.9%, video cameras 14%. Not sure what to think about the K7 as it can do video.

Provided it is classed as a Digital Camera and comes under the TARIC code of 8525 80 30 Then the duty rate looks to be zero.
EU Customs site
If they aere awkward and decide it is a "video" camera then it could be 4.9%
I have come across someone who was charged duty + VAT and others where just VAT has been charged.

Just pray you dont have to go through the hassle of returning it. When it comes to a camera i will always pay more to buy from an actual shop, you know with an old fashioned counter.
Not only can you try out models, and get advice but if you get problems you can return it directly to the people who sold it to you.
My K10 had to go back under warranty, and the people at Park Cameras could not have been more helpful.
