I wish the Pentax remote control was bright fluorescent yellow though, I am always losing that thing!
I know what you mean, my wife keeps hiding the remote to the TV in full view!

It's the latest 'lets give it a different name for the US of A' ploy by Pentax. They've been doing it for years, remember the P3/P30 series then there were the Super Plus/A models.

They do it to make the yanks think their getting something special, but we know better...

Welcome Oggy, the Vulcan must fly again!

I haven't seen one airborne since... too long ago. If the penny pinchers ground her may they rot in Whitehall

Welcome and enjoy the banter. A picture's only screwed up if it's REALLY bad

Welcome on board Graham, don't worry about the dogs! just take loads of shots, you might get one worth printing!

As for older cameras I'll own up to 2 Zeniths which I've had from new(ish) in the late 70's early 80's.

Still usable and only part of a growing film body collection.

Make sure the lens is set to the A position, that lets the camera and lens 'talk' to each other.

As for focusing, the viewfinder shows a red square in the centre when in focus(ish) and a green hexagon on the display at the bottom of the view finder when in focus.

You could set catch in focus in the menu to on, then just by slowly focusing through the desired object the camera takes the shot at the optimum moment.

hope this helps.

Not too far off topic I hope, but does anyone else miss the Jessops of old, when it was owned by the Jessop family? I really miss the 'Jessops List' that used to occupy half a dozen or more pages in the back of AP. It was so extensive and tightly packed, they even sold a little fresnel magnifying glass to read the list with In those days, they were very competitive in their pricing. I miss the Jessops of old
Yes I miss the Jessops of old, even the Jessops of 7 years ago was better than today's version!

When I was looking for my first digital camera (Optio 550, superb!)it was the Forster Square branch of Jessops in Bradford that let me play with one they got for me to try.
I compared it with Nikons and Canons, the Optio won out hands down!

The manager moved from there to a Leeds store when the council in Bradford decided to demolish the area and turn it into a waste land (still not regenorated after 4 years!!! :cry
She was a sad lose for all photographers in Bradford, as was Forster Square.

I miss talking to somebody who isn't trying to sell me the highest return camera,
I miss talking to somebody who knows what I mean.
I miss the good old fashioned Jessops!

Did I really admit that?

Hedgehogs like cat food, so I'm told. If he's still foraging tommorrow you could treat him.

Nice cloning, it's not obvious.

Where were the shoppers?

Our way was hectic, I had to go out to get a new TV, the old one has died!

Nice shots though, wish I'd thought of taking a camera.
