SRS Christmas sale on - Prices go up!!!!!!!!!!!!
This means that when stock is replaced the prices will rise.
As for the SRS sale, well some items will have been replaced at the higher import price so will appear more expensive.
Wait untill after the sale and you will be shocked by the massive everyday price rises!!

Yes, I think a smaller Jessops could be viable, but probably not more than 50 shops.
Our high streets could soon be dominated by £1 shops, charity shops and bookies.
Heaven forbid that vision, lets hope we don't loose anymore retailers.
Even if one of them is Jessops.

Have a good time and keep the batteries charged, may you have plenty of room on your cards and don't get knocked down by a yellow cab.
Oh and merry Xmas.

But until the current 'we can only sell canikony' philosophy is abandoned I fear for their survival.
Lets face it, we can't afford to loose a retailer with such reach into the high street.

I'm a Bradford lad and don't recognise the location.

The manager who served me, told me the Pentax was in stock but kept under the counter. Consumer demand, he said, accounted for the display of Canon and Panasonic cameras, and yes - the largest cabinet was full of Sony equipment.
As for consumer demand, surely the consumer can only demand what's visible in a shop. When I enter a shop I look around, if I don't see what I want I won't ask, then I leave and take my money elsewhere.
Surely one or two bits of stock in a cabinet NOT dominated by canikony can't be too hard to do?
Just the sight of a body encourages me to ask further.
As mentioned, a high street without Jessops would be unforgivable, but that's what we thought about Woolworths.

I'll confess to being the other person taking a punt. We will see what happens!
Cheers, Kris.

Thanks for the link to previous thread Hardgravity. I just read through that and it looks like a mamoth task lies ahead if I choose to scan my entire archive of film material. Let me know what you choose by way of a new scanner. I will probably just do selected parts of my archive to digital.
Thanks again Richard S
In the end I chose to have a CD produced at the time of developing with new films.
Old films are currently sitting waiting for me to do something with them!
Oh well...
