If the Zenit lens was used on the Zenit and Pentax bodies then the results would be different from the former test and the difference comes down only to the optics, the Pentax lens producing a superior result, but that is film.
Erm!

Zenit 55mm lenses are Carl Ziess clones( some even made in the same factory)!

Comparing like for like you'll see very little difference. Infact I've used my old Helios'44 lens on my Pentax Digital bodies with good results.

So what about posting pics taken with Pentax lenses on Canon bodies
Why put good glass on a poor body?

Oh I forgot 'they' don't do quality lenses do they?

Enjoy the lenses, I've a few M50s and use them regularly on both digital and film. As hefty says they're a cracking lens.

Personally I think the competitions should be Pentax only, 3rd party lenses OK, but Pentax bodies.

I'm coming round to the view that the gallery should be for Pentax only and any other pics posted in a different section, otherwise we could have the gallery hi-jacked with inferior images from...

As long as people own up to the fact that the picture's been taken on a non Pentax camera I can't see a problem.

After all we all have Pentax cameras of some sort and most people have other makes as well, look at Hefty!

I've posted the odd picture taken on other brands, maybe we should have a new section called something like "other Cameras" where we cwan show these cameras and pictures without feeling guilty.

I'm afraid I agree with Hefty!

Go on, get inside and do it yourself.

As for lighter fluid, will that damage the SMC coating?

I'm always wary when using solvents of ANY type near optical equipment, they have a habit of eating things

I asked about the sensors here, could be usefull to you

As you'll see DOIK has done some IR stuff, maybe he could help you.

I use a grip on my K200d, it makes the camera feel comfier and adds a second shutter button for vertical use, only downside is you can't preview with the second button(?)

Weight wise the grip + batteries is 250ish grams.

I don't know about the canon weather sealed lenses, is the EOS1D weather sealed?

That could be the reason.

My K200d is weather sealed, I just need a lens to go with it that's also sealed.

One I can afford that is.
