Hi Folks
When I fit my Sigma 105 to my K20 the LCD flashes F-- and the shutter seems to be locked. What have I done?
I bet its finger trouble.

You have one of the finest suppliers in Europe right next to the Space Centre in Leicester. It is PaperSpectrum. Just check out their website.
On top of that they will do a personal printer profile for your 1800 and for free of charge.
Chris at PaperSpectrum is one of the most helpful guys I know of and they also deliver locally themselves or by carrier around the country.

I for one and I am sure many many others get much more from the forum than we contribute. There is so little to do in Doha that the minds get distorted so dont go. Yes K10d maybe it is you and just maybe select brain before engaging finger and there just may be a bit more harmony. I appreciate its not all a bed of roses amongst the dunes and be honest Quatar is the pits. I do know I lived in the ME for many years luckily only a very short time in Quatar but it felt like a lifetime. I really dont know where you get the million from, its certainly not brain cells.My other suggestion to you is to wear a hat at all times because the sun is certainly getting to you.

Where would you go? The biggest problem is that there is no perfect solution. Canon has done a wonderful job of marketing and not much more. Nikon does have a truly wonderful lens system which Pentax would be well worth emulating but oh the cost. Minolta, well we know what has happened there. If you do discover Utopia please let us all know. Just remember the devil you know etc etc

HI Folks
I am considering a 70-300 lens and have short listed the Sigma and the Tamron. I need a macro facility to act as a back up to my Sigma 105 which I use for close up and macro work. I am currently using a K20 and have no plans to replace it as I am perfectly happy with it.
Has anyone out there got any good or bad things to say about my choices and are there any alternatives that could be considered.

I have an R1900 and a R300 and Never ever use Epson cartridges. The reason being that compatibles usually have 50% more ink than Epson and are roughly half the cost. The 300 is now about 4 years old and printed hundreds of prints with never a move out of place. The 1900 is much newer but seems to be coping pretty well.
If you are printing unedited then just maybe it is a camera white balance problem and nothing to do with the printer. It is just possible the printer is printing what the camera is presening to the camera.

Welcome to the party. The forum is a great place to be with train loads of help from train loads of PENTAXIANS. There are not too many hills around Hinckley but if you want some reasonable landscapes try Bradgate Park ( not too far to travel) and open 24/7. Just be careful about parking at the "Old John" carpark because that is the one where the idiots seem to operate from.
It is also nice to welcome a Leics resident as there dont seem to be too many of us.

Sorry I have been out of the loop of late. I have been to a couple of meetings at the Coalville club and thoroughly enjoyed it. There is a really good mix of ages, gender, ability, skill, digital and film. athey are a very welcoming bunch and I know that personally I will be joining them even though there is a more local club.
Anyone who wants can go to at least 2 of their meetings to sus it out without anyone pushing for membership.
They have just released their programme for 2009/10 which can be seen on
www.coalville-photo.co.uk and yes they are willing to accept even Pentaxians. In any case I am sure that we could have a club within a club!!!!
