I would like to add a lense to my small collection and am thinking in the range of 20-40mm or thereabouts but usable in low light conditions. What recomendations does the forum have. I am open to 3rd party lens such as Sigma and Tamron and if anyone out there is considering selling such a lens please get in touch.

I have gone the whole hog and bought one and it seems to work pretty well. I have not tried it at range but from other conversations it will work up to 50m which is ideal if you want to shoot some timid creature and it wont come to play if you are with the camera.
Stephen it is not the same as you use for your lights. I also use a cordless trigger for my studio work which is much cheaper than replacing sync leads that you have tripped over.
Hefty it is not even slightly exotic. On the exotic range I reckon it would appear just below a slice of beetroot. Just another, and I think useful, tool. It comes with a lead also which is very useful when doing macro on a tripod cos it eliminates shake especially if you shoot mirror up.

I have been doing a b-tech in digital photography now for 2 years because I wanted to get more from Photoshop and I think it has worked so far. I am well into my final portfolio where I know I will get a pass but really would like a distinction mainly to shut up the yound guns because I am an old f**t now.

If you are going to do some serious studio work then may I suggest that you do a grey card calibration at the commencement of your session. You will notice quite a difference and a grey card from a good suppler is pretty cheap. You can calibrate your colour in Adobe Camera Raw very easily if you are just doing a short quick studio session.

I just love my K20. My biggest dilemma is in event of a fire do I save the missus or the K20. The K20 never moans but there again it does not cook either. Seriously I think the k20 is just great. It is flexible in its uses, there are plenty of good Pentax and others lenses and value for money I really dont think it can be beaten. Sure Canon have great marketing and Nikon is almost exclusively for lottery winners but give me my Pentax any time.
