Hi Steve,
I think then it is about time that we put ourselves on the map. Are you a member of the Coalville Camera Club?
Cheers

Hi Guys
I'm also from north leics and thinking it would be good to join a club. looks like a dedicated Pentax one doesnt exist so I'd value any thoughts on the local options.
Thanks
Geoff

I have looked at the Ashby and Coalville Clubs, for me the Ashby is nearest.
That said I have seen some of the displays by the Coaville Club in the Snibstone Center, which looked pretty good.
Do you think they allow Pentaxians in?

Hi Jon
I guess thats my worry. At a time when discrimination on the grounds of age/sex etc is against the law I doubt if we have any redress in the vent that we are ganged up on by the canikon guys!!
One hopes of course that its more to do with results and interests rather than kit admiration!

Jon, Geoff, in a pm Ian informed me that he knows the chairman of the Coalville camera club, so I would expect a reasonably warm welcome if we were to join as a group. I believe that he is away this week , but I am sure he will pick up the thread when he returns.

Hi Jon, Steve and others
Coalville is a touch further then I'd really like for getting to regular evening meetings - I'd still be interested in hearing of your experiences if you do get along to them.
The Leicester-Loughborough-Melton triangle would map out my preferred location.

Hi guys
Sorry I have been out of the loop of late. I have been to a couple of meetings at the Coalville club and thoroughly enjoyed it. There is a really good mix of ages, gender, ability, skill, digital and film. athey are a very welcoming bunch and I know that personally I will be joining them even though there is a more local club.
Anyone who wants can go to at least 2 of their meetings to sus it out without anyone pushing for membership.
They have just released their programme for 2009/10 which can be seen on
www.coalville-photo.co.uk and yes they are willing to accept even Pentaxians. In any case I am sure that we could have a club within a club!!!!
Cheers
