OK Scott yes I'd be interested to hear what you think. If you did decide to order when the trial period is up CaptureOne 4 offers nearly as much as the Pro version but for quite a bit less money. You can always upgrade to Pro in the future at reduced cost (which I did).
BTW I have absolutely nothing to do with the company PhaseOne, I just love the software

I think it's one of the best (certainly my favourite and I'm pretty sure I've tried most RAW converters).
You can give it a try for 30 days http://www.phaseone.com/4/
Nice logical work flow and great at extracting every last detail.

Thanks Scott, yes noise..... well in my experience the K20D is pretty low noise wise at higher ISO but it is helped along a bit by CaptureOne 4 Pro

Just playing about with Shake reduction. I have to admit the K20D does a really impressive job, easily a match for my E-510 at slow shutter speeds.
A couple of quick and dirty shots......

actually, I have a fairly quick motorcycle....
Me too, when it isn't snowing
That's the way I went with my 'quick' bike, only riding the odd weekend, eventually it was sold
Safer to watch MotoGP or World Superbikes on the TV

I guess it depends on your chosen subject matter, most of the time I shoot aperture priority (being more concerned with depth of field).

amoringello sounds like you have one of the bad ones.
Unfortunately the QA for this lens has been indifferent I agree but they are not all that way. Mine doesn't exhibit any of the issues you have mentioned and whilst it's not perfect (periphery soft wide open) it performs very well when stopped down at all focal lengths.
I still rate it quite highly but it is not in the same league as my Oly 12-60.
