The 28-80 doesn't state SMC on it, so I'd presume not, although I've seen it as a "SMC Takumar A" which is a bit confusing

Sold the lens to a colleague who didn't need to AD2 adaptor for her N*k*n.

This is the proper PK/A version which allows full-aperture metering and use in the lens 'A' setting. These seem to be fetching stupid money on Ebay, so thought I'd offer it here first.

Hi all,

Having a clearout of accumulated stuff to make space for the new toys arriving next week.

I have two Pentax-M 50mm f2 lenses, both have clean optics. One is has a slightly grubby barrel as it's the one I use. The other has been on the ME Super I bought and is cleaner and generally 'tighter'. Pics:







Also have a Pentax-A 28-80 which I've been using as my 'standard' lens for a month or so. Works well, clean optics. Now replaced it with an AF version courtesy of Ebay.





All sensible offers considered.

Do us a favour, ask for a digital ME Super, please?

After searching high and low for a digital body that was small but still take my old manual lenses, I opted to go for a K-m later this month. Even so, it's still a lot larger than I want. A lot larger. I was talking about it last week with a colleague at work. It went somethig like this:

ME: Why the hell they can't make a simple digital body the size of an ME Super beats the hell out of me. All the digi bodies are so BIG!

HIM: So what is it you actually want?

ME: I want a camera as tiny and nice to use as the ME Super, but will still take all my old manual lenses.

HIM: What, you mean an ME Super?

ME: Eh? Yes, an ME Super. Small, compact, nice to use, well built.

HIM: Yeah, I know, an ME Super.

ME: What are you talking about?

HIM: You are saying you want an ME Super!

ME: *silence*

HIM: *grin*

ME: Doh!

It finally arrived today, courtesy of the biggest idiot I've ever dealt with on Ebay.

That's encouraging, thanks for the new information John. I've just reluctantly had to start a dispute process due to the non-arrival of an ME Super and a couple of lenses, so it'll be interesting to see if I'm fully covered

That Company in Norfolk is near here. I can check them out for you if you're considering using them. Alternatively just do that remote control test and see if you'll get the results you're after

Oh, that's interesting. I didn't know you could do that unless the seller had enabled it (as they charge the seller even more for credit cards transactions).

You reckon? I had to make use of their buyer protection last year for an item which I paid 130 quid for that never ever arrived... and the same situation with the other dozen or so buyer that contacted me. We got 18 quid each, the balance of his PayPal account divided between us.

Think about it: Big PLCs are failing right, left and centre. Would you risk supplying a few hundred grands worth of photographic equipment to someone who on paper doesn't have the ability to pay? Maybe Jessops are simply bad payers and Pentax opted to do without the risk.
