memory card reading problems

Hi all
i got a KM for my birthday and i love it but i have come across a little problem i cant get anything to read my memory cards i have to connect my camera to the laptop(xp) and my photo printer(epsom photomate)i have even tried my girlfriends laptop and she is running vista.
the cards do not seem to be visable other then in the camera i have tried sRGB and adobeRGB but makes no difference

Did you format the card in the camera before use?

The best way to view the images on the computer is to use a card reader. These are inexpensive and efficient.

If u can read it from within the camera, what's the problem ??

Why do u want to read the card out of the camera ? Mine never leaves my camera, I just connect via USB !

What r u trying to read it with, what card reader ?

What size memory card is it?

I bought a 8GB memory card a while back and my computer couldn't read it because the built in card reader could only read SD and not SDHC, which is the format for cards bigger than 2GB.

JOHN its one of the first things i do when i get a new card is to format them.

STU49 i dont want to be carrying my camera with me when i go to my girlfriends everytime to show her some pictures.

RSCOOTE i have a 4gb and an 8gb sdhc cards so that could be the reason will have to buy a newer card reader.

But if you've got them on your pc, then why not CD ?? less damaging than popping the card in and out !!

Cheap SD readers go for a pound or two

My printer's built in reader only accepts cards up to 1G !!

Memory cards survive all the poppings in and out that you'll ever do. It's more convenient to use the card direct than to burn a CD.

I take it your trying it in a sd card reader slot on the laptop?

if so and its not working usb should do it try one of these

I recently bought a 16gb card from play.com, pny one for £16.50, think they made a mistake as there now just under £40, wish i'd bought more....anyway, was reading some reviews and some people were having the same issue your having and this was the general answer to it.
