i saw one in a canon mount in jacob's on the king's road for 699 quid. they didn't have one in a pentax mount, but it's a sign that they are around, or will be shortly.

i was initially a bit disappointed by the noise results, even though they do look quite good.

then i realised that you were pointing it at a dark area, so the noise is being exaggerated in all those shots. i'm going to peep at the full versions to see whether it's worth upgrading to from my k7.

i'd have a k-5 over a 7d. matter of preference, but still. also, you are comparing the k-5's launch price to the 7d's settled price. i don't think the k-5 is overpriced at all at the moment. it'll come down in a few months.

i don't think you need video. i've only played with it briefly on my k-7, which is the first body i have which can do video.

it's completely different to how i would imagine it. the ability to use slr lenses really does impart a unique look on the film, and adding motion to composition adds a new dimension to how you think—i imagine it would affect your still capture if you played with it much.

but still, i don't need it. and i would be perfectly happy for my next dslr to not have video. but if it's a free add-on, i'm happy to have it there.

thanks both, that does help. my main issue was trying to get it to fit in the da limited lens case with two other da limiteds. and i reckon it should fit in easily.

now to think about the funding aspect...
