Just out of interest, what are your opinions on the SFX Series? They never seem to mentioned here and go for pennies second hand. I've got a couple and have really enjoyed using these big chunky cameras.

I think this is one of the crucial and most successful parts of the picture! Background echoing the forground. You find it a lot in Cartier-Bresson's work

love the monochrome one - great tonal values - what was your workflow? , think the other one is a bit too colured i'm afraid.

Lots of good advice as usual above but it would be easier just to throw away te gold reflector in the first place, save a lot of time and effort in post production as well s posting here

I sold one a year ago for £13 - a bit disappointing but that's market forces!

Mirror lock-up is 2, maybe 3 clicks away on the ds - is that such a big deal. Modern dslr cameras offer an incredible range of features but so does a 10 x 8 field camera, they are just different beasts.

Every wireless trigger, and infra-red trigger I've ever seen works off the hot shoe, mine also have pc cables, but since these are relatively modern devices I cant imagine any manufacturer making cable only ones and the camera doesn't 'communicate' via the sync cable. There is no delay with infra-red, this doesn't work like a tv remote, instead it is actually a flash gun with an IR filter.

Thanks to all of you for your comments, still a bit perplexed on the colour balance problem when the set up hasn't changed at all between shots, like I said it isn't very noticeable and the lab would probably filter it out anyway.

Thanks for the re-sizing tip, Daniel, it worked a treat.

George, what do you mean by 'air aerosol'?

Had a really big shoot last week and shot over 1000 frames which threw up a few points and I'd welcome your comments. The set up was as follows: *Ist DS with 18/55, 2 Elinchrom 450 heads, white continuous background, 1/160 @f 20. White balance set to 'flash'. Nothing changed at all during the shoot but some batches of 4 or 6 frames have a very slight red cast, nothing serious and easily fixed but noticeable when viewed as thumbnails in Explorer. Why?

I shouldn't have been so smug about having a clean sensor in the past, the above set up was perfect for showing up muck. Is there any way to batch process it out in Photoshop Elements 4? In the many threads here about sensor cleaning I dont remember anyone mentioning using those 'Dust-Off' compressed air guns, anyone tried it?

I've batch processed the images to resize them to 300dpi and approx 10x8 inches but the file sizes are 5.3MB, which even on broadband will take an enormous time to upload the the labs server. Is this size right?

Thanks,

Ken
