The DA 17-70mm quite appeals to me too, but may have to leave it for a month or two, bought a few items recently that came under the 'want' heading not the 'need' heading

I'd still like to hear/view any reviews/pics though ?

I'm not laughing, I have a bit of a strange problem, where I get, what I assume is dirt on the sensor, but it only appears intermittently, maybe on 10% of shots, and not even on consecutive shots, note the top R/H corner,

a close up here,

I assume it's a virus I caught from 'Clarky', where one of his spiders just drops it in, to spoil my shots

I've tried blowing it out, ( rocket, not gob ), but to no avail.

It's easy to clone out, but it really bugs me.

Next attempt at getting rid of it will include, "Rocket Blower', Dyson vacuum cleaner, and a bottle of Jack Daniels, ( just to calm my nerves, you understand !!! ).

Well, at least I don't have to clean the sensor, just wipe the foot-prints off the lens

I quite like it, You would expect to get a few bugs at first but give it a couple of weeks and you will have forgotten the old forum.

I for one would like to have the country and/or city of each member put back under thier avatars.

If i am conversing with someone from Kikatinalong and I am close by in Weelabarraback it could be helpful to meet and share ideas and photo locations.
Good man Clarky, I quite like it too !!!

And, yes, I would like to see where everyone is posting from, we all know the regulars, Aussie's, Canadian's, some from Africa, and even some of 'us' Scottish people recognize the English, well at least when we are not eating deep-fried Mars Bars, oh and I believe someone even posts from the Isle of Man ?

We are currently considering the options for larger photo browsing. As for the artifacts in the logo. This is done so the graphics of the site don't have a significant effect on the load time of the site. On the old forums the logo was actually up-scaled from a smaller version therefore making it blurry.

So, are the greenicon/bolding doing the trick for the new post indicator everyone?
For me the green icon comes on only if new posts arrive while I'm logged in. If I log out and then come back to the forum, any new posts that have been submitted when I was logged out, don't show up as 'green' or 'bold', so it's hard to see new posts.

Thanks Gully, I hope you are feeling better now !!!

Glad I didn't win, I couldn't have followed that excellent judging !!!

The 'Ugly-One' was an extreme close up of an old potato that started to shoot.

The picture was of the shoots as they emerged from the potato skin.
