Parts of Caithness are quite flat compared to other parts of Scotland, I always feel my eyesight improves when I go there, but it's just that I can see to the horizon with no hills in the way !!!

I was working in Caithness last week, and in between the heavy showers the sun made fleeting appearances.

The sky was very dramatic at times and I risked the camera outside even with the heavy showers about to drop on Thurso and John'O Groats, the lighting was harsh, and it seemed prudent to bracket the exposures.
Just thought I would share a few with you.

If it's the 10-17 'fishy', don't you just love the fact that you can include the SUN in your photograph and still get away with it ???

Yea, the last 2 were with the 10-17 and the Sigma. I was in the the process of adding to the post and I think I pushed the wrong button, and then things went from bad to worse, this new forum layout seems to have a mind of it's own, I couldn't seem to add anything or even edit anything ??

Yes, some of the pictures seem to have lost their sharpness on the web page, don't know if I can do much about that, but I will look in to it. I may try posting one to the Gallery and see if there is any difference.

I acquired this lens a couple of months ago, but never had the chance to give it some good use.

I was working in the 'very' North of Scotland recently, and took only the f1.2, ( well I took the fishy and the Sigma 105 as well, but tried to keep them in the bag ),

here is a couple or three, with the f1.2

Maybe I should have used the next one in this week's comp ?

"Contrasts" i.e. Dounreay nuclear power verses wind power ?

I was on a working trip to Shetland at the end of July, managed to work in a few hours to myself and take a few photographs, all with the K10D and the 'fishy' or FA50 or Sigma 105

Saw some smiling people, and even visited a Castle

I did some corporate pictures recently, and I used backgrounds that had the company logo. The logo was slightly out of focus, drawing attention to the employee, but customers / potential customers were still aware of the company 'presence'.
So your flash / umbrella set up, with a company 'presence' in the background, might fit the bill

........let me know what the 17-70 is like
Me too please, my LBA has been on a low level recently, I'm still trying to get the best out of the lenses I have, but the 17-70mm would fill a void for me,
