Pete, the cows were forming a semi-circle around the 'main' cow, all waiting for their picture to be taken, I left these in the picture to try to show that.

The 'bird' was the only thing the "judge" I referred to, actually liked, he wanted it bigger, but I told him ostriches don't fly

I think one of the things I like about the Camera Club, is seeing the wonderful prints some of the members produce.

I don't print much these days, most of my work is 'on-screen', but seeing the quality of the monochrome and colour prints these people can produce has given me second thoughts. Even some of the photo-mounting techniques are astounding.

The good thing about the club, is that people are willing to share all their secrets.

I joined the local Camera Club a couple of months ago, more to keep me out of the pub than anything else, but I find I'm enjoying it more and more, anyway, to get to the point, I entered these two pictures into one of the Monthly Competitions where the judge, I use the term loosely, thought they were, "below average".

I thought they were better than that, so I submitted them to the Pentax Gallery.

Maybe they weren't "below average" after all !!!

The shirt was actually clean, but with the tungsten light above and a halogen to the side, it gave it a bit "lived-in" look.
