Thank you guys I really appreciate your kind comments !

eenymac - no problem with lack of flights here, they were coming in about one every 3 or 4 mins. It was me who couldn't hack it any longer, I thought I had enough warm clothing on but after 2 hours standing around pushing the shutter every few mins I was frozen !

That final picture is a really memorable glimpse of the mysterious orient- a fascinating study.
Thanks for your comments Duncan.

Do you think the B&W conversion worked OK ? It's the first time I've tweaked that particular pre-set.

The sticker is like the K5 that you have bought in Shanghai ?
Cheers.
The stickers on mine are identical to those in your image.
Thanks for the info.
Can I ask you were did you bought them ? and how much did you paid ?
I have a friend that is going to China in febrary.

Regards.
When I bought my first K5 it was lower than any on-line price in the USA (US$1,250) about 3 months after it came out. I bought my second one a month ago for under US$900 (GBP580).

There is a camera shopping mall (3 buildings x 6 floors) at Luban Rd / Xie Tu Rd, Shanghai (20 mins from downtown). I buy 90% of all my cameras/lenses from there (the Pentax shop at the back of the ground floor in the first building, not the one next to the escalator (but that seems to be fine too).

I just had an idea to try this, all are 15 second exposures from sometime soon after when the lights of the planes come into sight. Taken right in front of the landing runway at Hong Qiao airport in Shanghai. Frustrating is not the word, it was around one second after the planes cleared the trees in front of me to them flying over my head and trying to time that was .... aagh !

OK I had a long intro written out here .. then Safari crashed on me ((*^%*^%#@$#) !

So here is the abbreviated version and I'll update the intro tomorrow (04.00 here now). Mistakenly shot at 2MBs but this is recording history not intended as art so please excuse the poor IQ. Food street in the old area of Qi Bao.

There's a company in Shanghai, called CHINACHEAPWHOLESALE (www.chinacheapwholesale.net) that sell K5's at approx £425-£450. They claim that it is genuine Pentax. As you also live in Shanghai, it might be worth you taking a look, then let us all know of your experiences with their service. Could be a lot of members here interested in buying if their goods are the "real deal"..!!
Rather you than me ! Those prices are impossible. They look like the epitome of the Scam websites that we see plenty of over here (and the site is only in English ?!) !

No addresses, no phone numbers and payment only by Western Union or Bank Transfer ..... and you're done, cooked to perfection.

This from their FAQs:

How long will I receive my Item?
By western union or moneygram payment, from payment to delivery, there only cost 3-6days; for wire transfer, it will cost 7-9days.

True Froggy, my iPhone 4 made by foxconn in China and it is a stunningly built piece of kit. If only everything was made to the same build quality then we wouldn't have to replace so often and that would be a much "greener" way to go.
I don't think Apple would like that - designed obselence is the way to go don't you know
